Second attempt at a desktop background using my Doctor Who portraits. Done for my Digital Drawing class. The assignment was to make something that related to culture in some way. If Doctor Who isn't a cultural phenomenon, I don't know what is.
Ooh tricky. My first Doctor was actually the first Doctor (Whovian veteran for a dad) so I kinda like the grumpy attitude, as such I was very incline towards 9. But I also met the fourth Doctor, whose sheer madness was just a joy to watch as such 11 was very easy to get into.
And then there's 10. He's awesome all on his own.
Might be easier to ask who my favourite companion is. Here's a clue, if you spoke her name in high gallifreyan, it would come out as Arkytior.
To be fair ive only have experience with 1 9 10 11 (still watching the older episodes as i find them.) but to date my fave has to be 10. 9 was my first doctor and got me into the series and i just havent made any kind of solid connection to 11 but 10 was fun to watch and 1 so far seems the most immature (though i will make great allowances for him being the first doctor and pioneering the series.)
Six, Definitely Six. Nine was my first Doctor, so I'm partial to him, but Six was my first Classic Doctor. Attack of the Cybermen was the first classic episode I could get my hands on and I don't know why but I really liked Six's character. Then, after watching The Two Doctors, I really fell in love with Six. I think I like him so much because he reminds me a bit of myself... He's a show-of with questionable fashion-sense and can argue you into oblivion, but he also is a good person underneath all that. Plus I really like his coat (I'm not kidding, I would TOTALLY wear that! At least, as long as my sister promises not to murder me in my sleep for breaking every fashion law in existence XD) I think a part of me also likes him because so many other people don't and I feel like Six deserves a LOT more love than he normally gets.
I really like this but there is one correction that I see needs to be mentioned. The 7th Doctor, Sylvester McCoy should be 1987-1996. That would cover his time on the TV show through the Virgin New Adventures and concludes with his appearance in the TV Movie in 1996.
Oh, and as for who is My Doctor. Well, technically, they all are. Because they are all THE Doctor and therefore MY Doctor. But if I were to address who was my First Doctor, that honor goes to The 9th Doctor, Christopher Eccleston. He changed everything for me in my life by showing me the absolutely FANTASTIC world that I love that is and continues to be, Doctor Who.
I agree with your proposed correction, however I felt that I would only mention each Doctor's time being televised. However, if I went with you suggestion I would have to have taken into account all of the Big Finish Audio Dramas which would force me to list Four, Five, Six, Seven and Eight as all having end dates of ???? considering they are all currently still playing the character. That just leads to complications and I felt that listing them this way would make it considerably less confusing for casual fans.
Well, as with most others I bet, Nine was my first...but when I then got into Classic Who, Three very quickly ran away with my heart. It's _possible_ Twelve or Thirteen will top him someday, but...nah.
